Summary Letter, dated Dec. 28, 1888, from Philéas Gagnon in Saint-Roch, Québec to J.C. Pilling at the Bureau of Ethnology in Washington, D.C., enclosing some tracings from a prayer-book and a primer in Montagnais by Father Jean Baptiste de La Brosse. In response to Pilling's request, Gagnon sends him tracings of the first page of La Brosse's primer in Montagnais (no title page; colophon reads Uabistiguiatsh [Québec]: Massinahitsetuan, Broun gaie Girmor, 1767); and the title page of the 1844 edition of La Brosse's prayer-book Nehiro-iriniui aiamihe massinahigan (Uabistiguiatsh [Québec] : Massinahitsheu J.-B. Fréchette, père, 1844). Also included is an ink drawing of part of the first page of the primer and the colophon.
