1The title of the professorship to be that of
"Christian Sociology and the English Bible."
and its institutional status to be the same as that of the
other professorships
2.  Within of my own department, I am to have
the limits and liberty of adminis
tration for such independent development as
may be on the one hand consistent with all deference to institutional
interests and the rights of other departments, and on
the other shall be in accordance with its own distinct sphere and
different methods.
These were conceded to all ? both professor & students for less class-room work and
more individual training, less recitation and more original
personal work, on the institute plan; less    
purely scholastic method, and more of the inductive process of training in observation
less dependence upon literary sources & more reliance upon direct contact with more
personal experience on the field for with women & children work among them.
3. In consideration of additional Sunday - work, not
Expected of others I am assured  one thousand dollars additional to
the regular Salary during the first year and An additional $500 every year
