User-Contributed Transcription Ladies and GentlemenLadies and Gentlemen, Ocean, Air, Earth, Stars are filled with our Father's writings. We have met together this evening to hear something of the texts contained in the Book written by God's own hand & spread out before us as upon the bosom of the Universe. Before we can comprehend what man has written we must understand the characters they use & also the relations those characters have to each other when classified & arranged. Even so we must understand the alphabet which God has used in his writings before we can understand what he has written in Nature. A Book although filled with the most glorious truths is as meaningless as a piece of blank paper to a person who cannot read. Even so he who has never learned to interpret the characters God has inscribed upon all material things to tell us of himself knows comparatively nothing of those glorious writings constantly before him. Our Father has given us two Revelations the scientific or the Revelations contained in the Bible, & both of these Books can be understood without effort & patient industry, but, each is replete with gems of knowledge & likely repays the student for all his labor in a coin that neither mold nor rust can corrupt. Knowing as we do that all things around us are covered with the hand writing of the eternal how strange it is that we spend so little time in investigating his messages to us! Geometry is but the name for those principles in accordance with which Jehovah formed the Universe balanced the planets in their orbits & jammed nights curtains with glittering Worlds. When we study the science of astronomy we are investigating those great truths concerning our Father which he has written in the heavens with the stars. Geology teaches us the manner in which God formed this Earth our
