User-Contributed Transcription from the scarcity of time, however I know want of time is made to hide a just many faults, but really I assure that it is not every day that I have time to spare to do even so small a thing as to write a letter, for [for?] the last six months at least, business has been pressing heavily upon my hands. Engaged continually and laboriously through the day and generally through a good portion of the night, when I sit down in my office or at my fireside, after the days work is over, and study a while upon the cases which I have seen through the day, and upon those which I expect to see the next day, I am so fatigued, that "Tired nature's sweet restores balmy sleep" generally sits heavily on my brow, so that I am compelled to yield to his dominion, often to the exclusion of duties which I owe to my self and friends, this day by day passes awayThe last letter I had from you, you told me that you and your sister were making arrangement to go to Marietta where I expect you now are. I have heard from you only indirectly since you have been there, but would like
