Phillipston Brown Boston Nov. 21st /51Friend, Kendall:- I have been waiting with a view to make some investigation of the subject you proposed--the Course of the Gulf Stream. But, although I have looked into several works I have not found anything that throws any new light upon the Subject. There are no works in the library relating specially to this Subject, though I presume there are many that treat of it with other matters in Common. I have yet had but little time for scientific research but if at any future time I should meet with anything of interest on this question I will write to you at once. Well, from the state above, you will see that allowing me a seasonable length of time to write a letter I ought to have sent you one quite a long time ago. But I was very busy just then--hurrying up so that I might get time to go home Thanksgiving-week
