Summary Unsigned report from Jan. 1755, summarizing campaigns of the previous year of 1754 under the command of Pedro Alcántara Pérez against the Moros in the Visayan Islands. Alcántara arrives in Iligan on April 23, 1754, commissioned by the governor of the Philippines to eliminate the Moro bandits and pirates who had been plaguing the Visayan Islands.  The report describes various forays against the Moros between April and November of 1754, including the rescue, through the efforts of the Jesuit Father Joseph Ducos, of an Augustine friar from the Sultan Linog; the taking of Panguil Bay with the resultant capture of 35 unsuspecting Moro vessels; and other Spanish victories at Misamis, Lupagan, and Anonan.  Final tallies show that the Spanish captured 159 ships, killed more than 2000 Moros, took 500 captives, recovered many stolen church ornaments, chalices, and altars; and counted among their booty firearms and valuable gold and silver jewelry. The report was sent to Gov. Pedro de Arandia on Jan. 27, 1755.  Also included is "Relacion de la valerosa defensa de los naturales Bisayas del pueblo de Palompon," an account of the villagers of Palompon, who, with the help of their patron saint Francisco Xavier, valiantly hold off more than 1000 Moros in a 7-day siege of their church between June 9-15, 1754.  The author also praises the bravery of villagers who offered determined resistance to the threat of Moro slavery in such towns as Hilongos, Gazang, Catbalogan, Ynitao and Lubungan.  There is also a hydrographic survey map of Panguil Bay, and a brief section explaining the sites indicated on the map.
